AVA Irandoost
AVA Irandoost moved to Germany from Iran at the age of 18. She studied architecture at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK), where her diploma project — an interactive video installation — was nominated for the Max Taut Prize. She later completed an MA in Art and Media (Narrative Film & Generative Music) at UdK and at the California Institute of the Arts.
As a DJ, AVA performs on international stages, in clubs, and at festivals. Working across music, film, and video installation, her practice explores physical and conceptual spaces, focusing on the relationship between material geometry and the fabric of memory and dreams. Her projects have been presented and awarded at international film festivals and museums.
“Music is, for me, more than just a fabric of sounds following a mathematical order. It’s about the sceneries that merge into one another. Whether it’s a loop, a track or an entire set, it’s always about telling a story. When it plays just right, we swim in it like fish in the ocean in the here and now.”
